and the day after...

yesterday...

Some friends said to me.. laaa.. snow turun sikit pun dah nak tutup uni ke? Those living in 4-season countries wayyyyy up north perhaps have snow on most days.. you can also get that if you live on the mountains here or way down to southern tip of this island. In Christchurch & North Canterbury however, the most you can get is 1-2 days of snow per year (based on a conversation with my landlady). This one came suddenly when people were unprepared. It even sneaked under the MetService radar. So, farmers were affected, roads were blocked and the city became ghost town. They even claimed it as the deepest snowfalls for more than 30 years. I can't verify that, I was not here before 2004.

Anyway, jakuns like me who came from no-snow world always look forward to the snowy days! I went around taking piccies so I can show my anak buah and they'll go bestnye Makcu!! nok gi etek.. and their Makcu will say, besttt sangattt... but the real thing is I didn't like to be frozen! I could not speak properly yesterday because my lips froze. I forgot to wear the right shoes that that my socks went wet after a few minutes of walking, my feet numbed. Yet, I am grateful to be able to experience this. To be able see the seasons change. Alhamdulillah. Watching the snow falling was hypnotizing.. or was it just because I was sleepy?

So today things are back to normal. The grass is green, the sky is blue... the air is... still cold.

This was yesterday...

And today... it looks like this.

Oh by the way...
a good note: I no longer have to run to catch my last bus home. I bought a car yesterday amidst the freezing weather. Yeayyy!
the other side of it: since I already poked a hole in my pocket, I have to live on a strict budget, no more yummy fresh veggies (they cost more in winter). Only cheap instants... :(

Can someone please tell me that the uni is closed. NO? Not closed? ARGHHHH!!!

ramblings, stories, etc.

So everyone's ready for Werld Cuppa? Poor me don't have the chance to watch that. This rugby nation is not showing football on free NZTV, only on SKY pay-TV. I did asked my landlady if we could get SKY, she said "yes, but wait till I win a lottery". Yeah right, when is your lucky day sweet lady? Mid July? I don't need SKY by then. Nah, I can't afford my own SKY, m too broke right now. Thanks to ever-so-convenient-swiping EFTP0S, I lost track of my spending. The bank statement came in yesterday, and for last month only, I spent twice the amount of my monthly allowance. Have to ikat perut la like this.

Donno why I'm so absent minded these days. I had my BCB online account blocked after giving wrong answers thrice to the verifying question for a money transfer. I really thought I gave the right answers... dah nyanyuk agaknye! Note to self- must take ginkgo tomorrow!

I went straight home after after getting my account blocked at the office internet. Once I got in my room, I quickly took off my clothes, changed to bathrobe and went for a hot shower. When done, I took my shower creme bottle (with dispenser) out of the shower and put it on the vanity next to the shower cubicle. With my right hand busy towel-drying myself, my left took a bottle of lotion (also with dispenser) from the lower shelf and put it on the vanity top. Ok, dry.. yeah.. now time for moisturising. Squirted some 'lotion' and applied it on my shoulder, elbows, chest and back, massaging them in.. after a few sec, the 'lotion' is still visible on the skin, forming white circle patterns all over, not absorbed....then only I noticed the smell, Arghhhh!!!
I actually applied shower creme, and not body lotion! Dang!!
Another round in the shower.

From reliable sources, I learnt that CT finally tied the knot with her 'yang tersayang' on Wednesday night in Kepong. No media representative or paparazzi were present. She had her private kenduri kahwin the next day on Thursday and her now lawfully wedded husband is... jeng jeng jengg... non other than my lil bro! NO, I'm not talking about CT Nurhaliz@ la.. hehehe... I'm talking about another Cik Siti who is now my sis-in-law.
Selamat Pengantin Baru to CT & lil Bro... may they have a blissful married life together.

*So people.. any of you living around Chch, with SKY TV and don't mind me hanging around your living room from 4am-9am, contact me, ok :)

**Why do I keep getting "temporary unavailable" notice everytime I want to post an update these days? Do you guys get it too?

things that can make money

Cartoon by Trem@in, The Pre5s C@rtoon Gallery

Here in Nu Zeelen people don't really idolize their Nu Zeelen Idol and they don't have AF but people can go really crazy over anything that has connection with rugby.

Last week Chris M@soe punched a patron at a Christchurch bar after he tripped over the patron's feet. Teammate T@na Um@ga grabbed a woman handbag nearby and hit M@soe on the head with the bag to stop further assault.

Now the R0xy handbag used by Um@ga to smack M@soe is famous! The owner, a 22-year-old lady has put the bag on Nu Zeelen auction site Tr@de Me. The R0xy bag usually costs less than NZD50. By the time I publish this post, there had been 58 bids, the highest at NZD3,000. A cellphone in the bag that was broken during the bar incident will also be given to the highest bidder.

Good eh?

Now for us Malaysians, I don't think anyone would put a high bid for some 'artefact' that has to do with any incident involving our sportsmen/women... but if you want to make money, go follow where M@wi is going. Probably you can find something that you can put on auction. Go find the fishing rod that M@wi used when he went fishing with Di@na. You never know how much his die hard fans wanna pay for that. Now go!

UPDATE!

The bag was finally sold at NZD22, 750!

A Vict0ria University psychology lecturer said people's desire to buy the bag were undoubtedly varied but probably included allowing the owner to live vicariously through the rugby star.

"By having the bag to hold and rub and take to bed with you, you are able to live some of that out."

The fact that macho Um@ga's weapon of choice was a ladies' purse also upped the oddity and interest, he said.

I want to go to a course in Scotland but I can't afford it. Hmmm... perhaps I should start going to bars where these rugby players go and offer my handbag whenever they need to whack their teammates. I need to find ways to make money now.
